Achievement echoes performance milestone achieved in 2016
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Latin America continues to celebrate the impressive accomplishments of Brazilian poultry processor Aurora Alimentos. Pedro Fernando Soccol, an Aurora poultry producer from Xaxim in the state of Santa Catarina, has reached a historical record breeder performance within company of 204.7 total eggs and 168 chicks per hen housed with Aviagen’s Ross 308® AP (formerly AP95) parent stock.
This isn’t the first time Aurora has shown excellent results. In 2016, Aviagen also rewarded Aurora for achieving a high European production efficiency factor (EPEF) broiler score of 510 points with the Ross 308 AP.

Aviagen acknowledged Aurora and Soccol with a special dinner and ceremony on March 22 in Chapeco, state of Santa Catarina, presenting both companies with plaques to acknowledge their achievements. Additionally, individual plaques were awarded to Aurora’s Vinicius Dadalte, rearing management; Uilian Felini, production management; Leimar Mangoni, rearing management; Darlan Angelo Tecchio, veterinarian; and Wendy Sander Bresolin, production supervisor, for their skill and hard work that enabled the great results to be attained.
In addition to these individual plaque recipients, the celebration was attended by Aurora’s President Mario Lanznaster and Agribusiness Director Marcos Antonio Zordan, along with Aviagen's Abílio Alessandri, business manager for Brazil; Marco Aurelio Araujo, technical services manager; Luciano Mecchi, Aviagen’s regional sales supervisor; João Heron Ribeiro, regional technical services supervisor; and Fabio Carnevale, marketing supervisor for Latin America.
“Aurora producers continue to push the boundaries on performance and impress us with their results – in 2016 with a great broiler flock result and now with a parent stock flock achievement”, said Marco Aurelio Araujo, Aviagen Brazil Technical Services manager.
Araujo added, “We congratulate both Aurora and Soccol for the remarkable results they have achieved with the Ross 308 AP bird – no doubt the best option in Brazil and South America for poultry producers due to its strong performance in PS and broiler traits, such as high number of chicks per hen housed, fantastic daily weight gain and feed conversion. The Ross 308 AP difference has been recognized by customers throughout Brazil and South America.”
“The Ross 308 AP continues to amaze with its genetic potential and is truly meeting our business needs”, said Marcos Tolentino Lopes, PS manager, Aurora Alimentos.
“We feel honored to be recognized by Aviagen for our results, which are due in part to our excellent relationship and collaboration,” concluded Mario Lanznaster, president of Aurora Alimentos.
