In-depth knowledge and expertise enhance Aviagen production team
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Latin America has appointed Dr. Mario Sergio Assayag to the position of General Production Manager in Brazil, effective July 23. Based in the Campinas office, Assayag will report directly to Aviagen Latin America President Ivan Pupo Lauandos.
Assayag will benefit Aviagen’s production team with insight into poultry and the poultry breeding industry. In his new role, he will be responsible for all production operations in Brazil, including great-grandparent stock (GGPS), grandparent stock (GPS), parent stock (PS), feed mill, lab and quality.
His education includes an undergraduate degree in Veterinary Medicine from Parana Federal University (UFPR) and a Master’s degree in Production Engineering from Santa Catarina Federal University (UFSC), as well as a Doctorate degree in Microbiology from São Paulo University (USP). Assayag launched his professional career in 1995 as a Veterinarian for Arbor Acres®, now Aviagen, in the United States. He also gained broad base of experience at Sadia, BRF, Intervet/Akzo Nobel and Seara.
