CAMPINAS, Brazil – The 12th symposium of Santa Catarina’s State Poultry Producer’s Association (ACAV) attracted nearly 500 growers from throughout South America to Florianopolis, Brazil, during Sept. 25-27.
Occurring every two years, ACAV is an essential event on Aviagen® Latin America’s calendar, as poultry professionals gather to discuss late-breaking news and information.
“We’re proud to be a gold sponsor of ACAV 2018, and have been a loyal supporter since the symposium’s beginning in 1994,” said Fabio Carnevale, Marketing manager for Aviagen Latin America.
Aviagen had a strong presence at the event this year, presenting critical management advice to customers and industry colleagues. Dinah Nicholson, Aviagen’s global manager of Hatchery Development and Support, spoke on “Incubation Challenges: Hatchery Systems vs Breeding Genetic Evolution Demands.”
Dinah also provided insight on achieving the best chick quality and overcoming incubation challenges, while Marco Aurelio Araujo, technical services manager for Brazil, presented on obtaining optimum male reproductive health to an audience of 150 customers.
Abilio Alessandri, business manager for Brazil, spoke on the importance of ACAV for Aviagen. “The popularity of our Ross 308 AP birds continues to grow throughout Latin America, and we appreciate ACAV as a great opportunity for us to meet with customers and discuss their challenges and demands. It was also a good forum to demonstrate our commitment to their success. One way we can truly add value for them is by sharing the latest developments for optimizing the performance, health and welfare of their birds.”
