CAMPINAS, Brazil – On July 4, Aviagen® Latin America hosted an official launch event for its new company Aviagen Peru. Nearly 50 customers from throughout Peru gathered in Lima to discuss Aviagen’s strategy for the Latin American region. They also spoke on the new company and the benefits it will offer to poultry producers throughout South America.
Aviagen Peru began operation in April to produce Ross® 308 AP broiler breeders for Latin America. Peru joins Aviagen Brazil and the company’s recent joint venture with Avicol in Colombia as part of the company’s dynamic Latin American expansion.
The launch event was led by Ivan Lauandos, President of Aviagen Latin America, and Cesar Muro, General Manager of Aviagen Peru (pictured).
Ivan presented an overview of the Latin American market and the company’s approach to better serving its customers there. “Aviagen’s mission is to help our customers throughout the region feed their rapidly growing local communities with a quality source of protein. To fulfill this mission, our strategy is to have production and distribution bases in multiple South American countries to keep up with the growing popularity of the Ross 308 AP, as more and more growers see its clear advantages to their businesses.”
Cesar added that the Ross 308 AP has proven to be the right bird to thrive in the Peruvian climate and to meet “the unique needs of our Latin American growers. Our goal is to work as a team with these customers to help them maximize the health, welfare and performance of their birds, and, in turn, increase their profits.”
