Brazilian poultry producer reached 210.3 eggs per hen housed
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® customer Granja Pinheiros has reached a historic record for the year by producing 210.3 eggs per hen housed with Ross® 308 AP broiler breeding hens. An all-time record for Granja Pinheiros and a 2018 milestone for Aviagen in Brazil, the performance was recorded at Granja Forneck, a Granja Pinheiros poultry integrator located in Pareci Novo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Granja Pinheiros important to growth of Ross brand
Granja Pinheiros has contributed considerably to the success of Ross 308 AP in the region. In 2012, the poultry producer placed the first three flocks ever in Brazil, and it was one of the first customers in the country to receive Ross 308 AP parent stock.
Since then, acceptance of the Ross brand has grown rapidly throughout Brazil, with customers benefiting from the brand’s good feed efficiency, meat yield and livability.
Celebration of success
To commemorate the achievement, Aviagen Latin America hosted a celebration on July 5 in Nova Petropolis, Brazil, where Aviagen’s business manager Abilio Alessandri presented an award plaque to Granja Pinheiros owner Roberto Kehl.
Aviagen technical services manager Marco Aurelio Araujo presented another award plaque to Granja Forneck owners Jose Inacio Forneck and Roseli Forneck, who are responsible for the historic record reached in parent stock production. Other award plaques were presented to the agribusiness manager Alex Friederich, as well as rearing responsible Veleno Ososki da Silva, both from Granja Pinheiros. Veterinarians and other specialists also attended the celebration.
“We congratulate both Granja Pinheiros and its integrator Granja Forneck for this impressive parent stock accomplishment. Such performance levels are achieved through expert husbandry skills and dedication, which enable the genetic potential of Ross 308 AP broiler breeding hens to be optimized,” explained Araujo. “Granja Forneck and Granja Pinheiros are great encouragement to others of the productivity levels that are possible with Ross 308 AP broiler breeders, which are widely popular throughout the region due to their high performance potential.”
“It was great to get together with our valued customers and celebrate their accomplishment,” added Alessandri. “We’re grateful for their important contribution to the development of Ross brand in Brazil, and look forward to working together toward further growth and success,” said Jairo Agostini, sales manager for Aviagen.
