CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® is gearing up for this year’s Aviagen Business Conference-Latin America (ABC-LA), slated for Sept. 11-14 in Lisbon, Portugal. Close to 160 delegates -- including poultry business owners, directors and managers from across all Latin American regions – are expected to attend. Together Aviagen and its customers will explore the show’s theme of “The Road to 2030 and Beyond,” exchanging the latest information on current and future business trends and developments in the global poultry landscape.
“ABC-LA’s theme aligns with our company’s strategy to share with customers a broad and futurist view of the important trends in our poultry industry within Latin America,” said Aviagen Latin America President Ivan Lauandos.
This year’s line-up of relevant topics will include: an outlook on the poultry industry of the near future, the impact of emerging IT technologies, effects of genomics and biotechnology on the industry, the future of grain production in Latin America, and how renewable energy can support agribusiness and poultry production. Among the presenters will be Aviagen CEO Jan Henriksen and Lauandos, as well as poultry leaders, scholars, and subject experts from Aviagen, academia and the business world.
Alongside the sessions will be opportunities to exchange ideas and further strengthen successful business relationships through external activities.
Brand variety offers choice to Latin American markets
The story of the Latin American poultry market is one of growth and success. In recent years Aviagen has invested heavily in facility expansion to increase production of its poultry breeding stock to help customers keep pace with the demand.
To meet a diversity of market needs, Aviagen offers its a variety of poultry breeding stock. In particular, the Ross® 308, Ross 308 AP, Ross 408, Arbor Acres® Plus and Arbor Acres Max are known throughout the region for the benefits of high performance, strong health and welfare, and excellent feed efficiency the birds bring to their businesses.
“Aviagen is committed to the success of our customers in the important Latin American region, and consider ABC-LA as a great opportunity to interact with them, listening to their ideas and challenges, and sharing our most current news on poultry industry trends that have potential to impact their businesses,” explained Henriksen.
“We look forward to greeting our esteemed Latin American customers during the upcoming business conference in Lisbon. It’s only by coming together with these key business leaders that we gain a better understanding of what they need to best serve their diverse markets. Our top priority is always our customers, and we work with them on a regular basis to position them for success in the opportunity-rich global industry,” added Lauandos.
History of bringing together business leaders
The business conference has its beginnings back in 2004 as the Latin American Ross® Association in Santiago, Chile. In early years it was dedicated for Ross Grandparent stock distributors and customers. Then in 2012 the event made its debut as the ABC-LA in Cancun, Mexico, expanding to include parent stock customers, as well as the Arbor Acres® brand. Aviagen organizes the ABC-LA every two years; the previous event took place in 2016 in Las Vegas, US.
