Latin American story is one of growth and success
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Latin America signed an agreement in August to become a grandparent (GP) stock supplier for Ariztía, one of Chile’s top poultry producers. As a leading international food business, Ariztía exports poultry meat to more than 20 countries worldwide.
Luis Cesio, Aviagen’s Business Manager for South America Excluding Brazil, added, “We have a strong commitment to Ariztía and all of our Latin American customers, and work hand-in-hand to strengthen their success in a competitive market. The Ross® 308 AP has the perfect traits – environmental resistance and feed efficiency balanced with a healthy growth rate and meat yield – to boost the economic performance of our producers.”
Forward development in Latin America
The announcement of the Aviagen and Ariztía alliance comes on the heels of the establishment of Aviagen Peru and another poultry breeding operation in Colombia earlier this year. Aviagen Peru was the company’s first direct presence in Latin America outside of Brazil, where it began operating as Aviagen in 2007. Aviagen now has two strong operations for supporting domestic markets in Colombia and Peru, and will be able to use all three operations as bases to export high-quality Ross 308 AP broiler breeders to customers throughout the region.
“Latin America is a highly valued region for Aviagen, and the popularity of the Ross 308 AP continues to rise. To keep up with this growth and success, we continually invest heavily in the region, not only through new businesses, but by broadening of our current operations,” commented Ivan Lauandos, President of Aviagen Latin America. “This new collaboration is a great step in our Latin American journey, and a win-win alliance for both Aviagen and Ariztía.”
