CAMPINAS, Brazil – Between April and August, Aviagen® Latin America welcomed customers and industry colleagues throughout Central America to a series of eight training sessions. Nearly 500 participants from throughout Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras discussed the latest best practices in Ross® breeder and broiler management. The events were all led by Aviagen specialists, and four were dedicated to Central American poultry meat producer IP-CMI.
Customized sessions for IP-CMI
Each year, Aviagen hosts training events for one of Central America’s biggest poultry producers, IP-CMI. The four 2022 sessions saw 300 IP-CMI employees, who together with the Aviagen customer service team, explored the latest in important management topics such as breeder and broiler nutrition, incubation and biosecurity. Based on Aviagen’s previous field visits to IP-CMI, the seminars addressed real-life situations.
“Aviagen remains committed to helping IP-CMI feed its local communities throughout Central America with healthy chicken meat, which is a high-quality and affordable protein source," explained Jorge Amado, Technical Services Manager for Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean (CAME).
"We understand that the key to success for our customers is knowledge, combined with the unique benefits of the Ross bird,” added Juan Diez, Business Manager for Aviagen CAME. “We had positive feedback from our valued customer, and will continue to support IP-CMI by sharing and helping them optimize the best production practices.”
Exploring latest broiler and breeder management practices
A separate seminar series was organized for close to 200 Ross customers from several companies throughout in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Costa Rica. During these seminars, knowledge and ideas were exchanged on a variety of hot topics. These included breeder and hatching egg management, strategies to maximize broiler efficiency, and nutritional tools to optimize broiler performance, among others.
For Jorge Amado, events like these bring information-sharing and a synergy between the Aviagen Latin America team and their customers. “We believe that being present in our customers' daily operations is the most effective way to support them, helping them see continuous improvement and innovation. Customers are also informed about the latest news and trends in the poultry industry, which contributes to promoting the performance, welfare and efficiency of their flocks.”
